Smash Attack - A Possible Replacement For The Removed Saw?

Topic of Interest: Early on in the games development, there was the addition of a melee weapon deemed as a "saw" attached on the lower portion of the mech. In this forum post, I will discuss a new possible melee attack that can replace the saws function in a more unique way.

Possible Solution: Unlike the jump mechanic, which is a deadly forward leap damaging the main hull of the mech, the smash attack would be a vertical jump that would cause the mech to land with a powerful melee shock wave that would blow enemies back with infliction of moderate to minor damage depending on the landing of the mech. Maybe the possible introduction of the shift button could enable this smash attack?
